            Урок английского языка в 11-м классе

                                  Тема "Искусство"

 

Тип урока: урок комплексного применения учащимися знаний, умений, навыков.

 

Место урока: завершающий по теме “Искусство”

 

Цели урока:

обучающая – выработка у учащихся общеучебных умений и навыков, рациональной организации умственной деятельности

воспитывающая – формирование собственного мировоззрения, осуществление нравственного, эстетического воспитания, умение работать в коллективе

развивающая – усиление коммуникативных свойств речи, развитие воображения, памяти, внимания, развитие речевой реакции.

 

Оборудование: магнитофон, аудиокассеты, компьютер, проектор, диск с учебными материалами (презентация, аудиофайлы), индивидуальные карточки для выполнения задания.

Ход урока

Обсуждение прослушанной магнитофонной записи [1] на основе домашнего задания по пройденному материалу на предыдущих уроках.

 

Teacher: Today we are going to discuss different types of music, your musical tastes, your attitude to different types of music, music power. Try to think of everything we learned and read about music at our previous lessons, use your own experience during our discussion.

 

Now be quiet, sit in a comfortable position.

 

Listen to the tape, follow the instructions and answer the questions (см. Приложение1.ppt):

What effect did the music make on you?

What were you dreaming about?

What kind of music did you `hear` if any?

Is it the type of music you usually listen to or not?

 

“Sit yourselves comfortably on your chairs. Close your eyes and go into the world of your thoughts and imagination. Just be aware of all the thoughts that are coming into your mind…pictures, thoughts, worries, hopes – imagine that you have a large basket… Now, noises and things you can hear from outside…put those in the basket as well. Put the basket on one side, remember you can come back to your thoughts later if you want to. Listen to your own breathing…and as you breathe in, take in clear fresh air… Now you are at your favourite place, it might be a beach or a mountain path in the moonlight, it is very quiet… Then you hear the sound of music, gradually the music becomes louder and clearer and you realize it is your favourite music. Listen to the music and enjoy it…

 

Unfortunately it`s time to go. Slowly notice your surroundings again. Come back from your dream and say goodbye to the music. When you are ready, bring your attention back to this room, to the people who are here.” [1]

 

Teacher: Now bring your concentration back to the classroom. Let’s discuss questions 1–4.

III. Проверка домашнего задания

 

Учащимся было дано задание повторить лексику по теме, подобрать и принести записи различных типов музыки. Выборочно прослушиваются музыкальные отрывки. Учащиеся подбирают соответствующие прилагательные, характеризующие каждый отрывок, и объясняют, какое влияние на них оказывает прослушанная музыка.

 

Teacher: Your homework was to bring in your own tapes of different types of music. Let`s play some extracts, try to choose the best adjectives to describe the music and tell about your impressions.

 

Предполагается использование учащимися активной лексики по теме:

 

soothing, violent, gentle, traditional, joyful, rhythmic, discordant, romantic, melodious, loud, harsh, sad; helps feel relaxed; may be stimulating to the brain; encouraging curiosity, alertness; promotes loving feelings; whips up hate, jealousy, violence; it makes me laugh/cross/cheerful/ optimistic/want to cry; etc.

What is your favourite sort of music?

Where do you tend to listen to music?

Do you like having background music while you are working?

Do you have an ear for music?

Have your musical tastes changed since you were younger? If so, in what way?

Do the people you live with and your close friends share the same tastes in music as you?

Can certain types of music be harmful?

Does music heal?

You listen to different songs a lot. Most of them are in English. Does it help you with your English?

 

Прослушивание песни на английском языке с последующим выполнением заданий.

 

Задание1

 

Teacher: You are going to hear a song. As you listen think about the following questions (см. Приложение1.ppt):

Who is singing? (Elvis Presley)

What is the singer singing about? (He keeps sending letters of apologise to his girlfriend, but his letters come back)

How can you characterise the music? (rhythmic, energetic, optimistic, loving, hopeful, etc)

Do you like the song? Why/Why not?(I guite like it/ I really like it/ I do like it etc)

Have you heard it before? (I have heard it/ I can`t have heard it/ I`ve never heard it/ etc)

Do you know any other songs by Elvis Presley? (Love Me Tender, Tutti Frutti, Heartbreak Hotel, My Way)

 

Задание 2

Для выполнения задания учащимся раздаются индивидуальные карточки с текстом песни.

 

Teacher: Look at the words of the song and fill in the gaps with an appropriate word. Then listen again and check your answers.person hand day back postman unknown letter zone morning

It came right back to me.

Address unknown,

No such ………….,

No such zone.

 

This time I`m gonna take it myself

and put it right in her …..,

And if it comes back the very next ……

Then I`ll understand

 

The writing on it:

No such person,

No such zone.

Задание3

Teacher: Discuss the following questions about the song (см. Приложение1.ppt):

Who is the letter written to? (the singer`s girlfriend)

Is it a love letter? (No, it wasn`t. It was a letter of apologize)

Why does he write “I`m sorry”? (The singer had a quarrel with his girlfriend)

Why do you think his letters come back? (The girl can`t forgive him)

What do the words “Return to sender” mean? (the words on a letter asking for it to be sent back to the person who sent it)

Why does he send a “Special Delivery” letter? (to guarantee quick delivery of his letter)

What do the words “I`m gonna take it myself” mean? (He wants to deliver his letter personally)

What words show that their relationship is over? (Return to sender)
