Утренник проводится накануне Нового года. На него приглашаются родители учащихся 2 – 3 классов и учащиеся 6 класса, которые выучили песни и стихи о зиме и Новом годе. Дед Мороз – ученик 10 класса.
Классная комната празднично украшена: ёлка с игрушками, новогодние газеты, игрушки для призов, многие из них изготовлены учащимися.
Учитель: Ребята! Совсем недавно вы начали изучать английский язык, но за это короткое время вы уже многому научились: вы выучили много стихов и несколько песен. Все вы очень любите петь и играть месте:
«Let’s recite a poem about New Year’s Day».
Учащиеся 2 класса: New Year’s Day!

ДедМороз: Now I see that you are clever little children. Here are your presents.
На столе разложены игрушки: обезьянка, поросёнок, лиса, медвежонок, кошечка, собачка, кукла, автомобиль и школьные принадлежности: книга, линейка, карандаш, тетрадь. Учащиеся по очереди подходят к Деду Морозу и просят его дать им ту или иную игрушку. Например,
Учащийся: Father Frost, Father Frost, give me a ……. , please!
ДедМороз: Here you are.
Учащийся: Thank you.
Тот, кто правильно просит, получает игрушку.
ДедМороз: Oh, how late is it? I must hurry! Do you promise to be good children and learn well? If you do, I’ll come to see you next year.
Можно перевести слова Деда Мороза или попросить шестиклассников перевести их.
Учащиеся: We promise, we promise, come in, Father Frost!
ДедМороз: All right, children, I’ll come to see you next year and bring you new toys. Now I must leave. Good – bye, children!
