Nikolaevsk on the Amur.
Great Britain
When I think of Britain I usually think of London. London is so old! The Romans founded it more than 2000 years ago. One of the legends says that London can be capital of the country, rich and great until 12 black ravens live in the tower of London.
Traditions &customs
The best thing I can think of Britain is “Madame Tussaud’s Gallery” is the most unusual Gallery. It has exhibits famous and infamous. It makes Britain one of the most popular attractions.
Another idea I have of Britain is their holidays. There is a funny tradition connected with the New Year the First Foot. The First Foot must be a man, he may be a chance man who comes to let the New Year into the house and bring good luck to the family. Traditionally, the first visitor of the year must carry food, drink and coal in to the house.
Especially about Scotland I imagine Lock Ness monster. I have never been to Britain, but I hope to go someday to find out if any of my impressions are true.
Australia
Australiais the world’s largest island and its smallest continent. The continent is south of the Equator. Much of the land is a useless desert. Most of Australia is sunny most of the year. Its population is very small for such a huge country. Many people live far away from towns in the outback. Severe droughts, floods and cyclones happen very often on the continent. The people suffer from limited fresh water.
Russia
More than thousand years ago a vast Slavonic state appeared in Eastern Europe. This state is known as Rus. In history Rus is known as Kievan Rus, sins Kiev was the capital of the state for centuries.
Now Russia is one of the largest countries in the world. It occupies about one-seventh part of dry land. It is situated in Europe and Asia and washed by 3 oceans: the Artic in the north, the Atlantic in the west, the Pacific in the east and by a lot of seas. The country is divided into two parts by the Urals which are not high at all.
Different animals live in our country: white bears mostly in the north, wolves, bears, the tiger in the Far East. Nature is wonderful practically in all parts of our great country. Central part is famous for its birches, pines and oaks, Siberia for it’s cedar, the Far East for it’s iron and cork trees.
I‘d like to live in Saint-Petersburg, because…
The first:
1. Saint-Petersburg is the second capital of Russia.
2. There are many places of interest in this city. It is winter palace, Kuntskamera, the Petropavlovsk tower, summer palace, Isaac Cathedral, Kazan Cathedral and others.
3. Saint-Petersburg is scientific center. Many schools of higher education, colleges and scientific institutions are located there.
4. Saint-Petersburg is the very beautiful city. It has a great number of green parks, large squares, and wide streets. There are a lot of museums and theatres, cinemas and exhibitions. Many concerts, shows, festivals, presentations take place every day in this city.
5. InSaint-Petersburg I can get a good education and a good job.
The second:
I like listening to Russian Rock. My favorite band is «КУКРЫНИКСЫ». I’d like their style, their songs. This band lives in Saint-Petersburg, and I’d like to go on their concerts, the presentations of their new albums. I‘d like you to listen to the fantastic and romantic song “Witchcraft” «Колдовство».
Finally, Saint-Petersburg is considered to be the father of Rock, because such bands as: «КиШ», «Алиса», «Сплин» were born in this city.
