Цель: активизация лексики через совершенствование навыков устной речи и аудирование.

Задачи:

1. Отрабатывать грамматические навыки.
2. Создавать условия для расширения кругозора.
3. Воспитывать умение работать в группе.
4. Способствовать развитию оперативной памяти.

Оборудование: карточки с заданиями, жетоны.

Ход  мероприятия

1. Организационный момент.

- Good  morning

-Today we will competition of two teams

2. Проведение конкурсов

Первый конкурс. Разминка.

- The first task for our teams is to agree or disagree with my statement. If the statement is false, correct it, please. If it is true, repeat it after me. Our teams will do this task one by one.

Командам предлагается по очереди выразить согласие или несогласие с утверждениями ведущего. Если команда не справляется с выполнением задания, то право ответа получают соперники. За каждый правильный вариант команда получает один жетон.

Утверждения:

1. American English doesn't differ from English spoken in Great Britain.

(It is false. American English differs from English spoken in Great Britain.)

2.  There are two English-speaking countries in the world.

(It is false. There are not two English-speaking countries in the world.)

3. English has taken the position of the international language.

(It 's true. English has taken the position of the international language.)

4. There are many words from other languages in English.

(It is true. There are many words from other languages in English.)

5.  English is the official language of the Olympics.

(It is true. English is the official language of the Olympics.)

6. A person can learn one foreign language.

(It is false. A person can learn several foreign languages.)

7.  Some words came to Russian from English.

(It is true. Some words came to Russian from English.)

8. There are thirty-six letters in the English alphabet.

 (It is false. There are twenty-six letters in the English alphabet.)

9. English is one of the most popular foreign languages in Russia.

  (It is true. English is one of the most popular foreign languages in Russia.)

10. People who speak English have worse job opportunities.

(It is false. People who speak English have better job opportunities.)

Второй  конкурс. Countries and capitals.

Now you will match the countries and their capitals. You'll have three minutes to do the task.

Каждая команды получает набор карточек с назва­ниями стран и городов. Ученики должны соотнести название страны и ее столицу.

Примерный набор карточек:

Canada, Japan, India, Australia, Great Britain, Spain, Egypt, France, Vietnam, China;

Tokio, Madrid, Peking, Canberra, Ottawa, Deli, Hanoi, London, Cairo, Paris.

Keys: Canada — Ottawa, India - Deli, Japan — Tokio, Austra­lia — Canberra, Spain — Madrid, Egypt — Cairo, France — Paris, Vietnam - Hanoi, China — Peking, Great Britain — London.

Третий  конкурс. Раssive  Voice.

You have to change the sentences to use passive structure.

Ученик берёт карточку с предложением, зачитывает предложение в активном залоге и изменяет его, используя пассивный залог.

Примерные предложения:

1. Ann cleans her room every week.

 (Ann's room is cleaned every week.)

2.  People build new houses in big cities.

(New houses are built in big cities.)

3. We bought oranges in the shop.

(Oranges were bought in the shop.)

4. They sold stamps in the post office.

(Stamps were sold in the post office.)

5.  Children will play hide-and-seek in the park.

(Hide-and-seek will be played in the park.)

6. They will show the cartoons in the evening.

(The cartoons will be shown in the evening.)

7.  I will not take my sister to the History Museum.

(My sister will not be taken to the History Museum.)

8.  We don't translate poems at home.

(Poems are not translated at home.)

Четвёртый   конкурс. Complete the sentences: put in the countries.

1.  ... occupies the whole continent.    (Australia)                                

2.  When it's summer in Russia it's winter in … . (New Zealand and Australia)

3.”A movie” in America is “a film” in … . (The UK)

4.  ... is nearly as big as all of Europe. (Canada)

5.  ...is an island state.    (The UK)                                                      

6.  ... shares with ... seven of the world's largest lakes.  (Canada, the USA)
