COMPARING ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

    Each language is unique. Russian and English are not exeptions. These two languages look pretty different at first sight still they have smth in common. English alphabet has less letters then Russian alphabet. There are 26 letters in English and 33 letters in Russian alphabet.
    English uses the Latin alphabet and in Russian language the Cirillie alphabet is used. The next differens is the number of cases. Russian language has got six cases while English language has got onle two of them: Common Case and Possessive Case.
    Therefore in Russian language there more genders and i.e.more word endings. Moreover in Russian language one should add the appopiate ending not only to nouns but to the adjectives as well and the tail end of nouns and adjectives always chages depending on their functions and position in the sentence. Another difference between the languages is gender.In English language there are no gender at all. In Russian all nouns are either one of three yenders.
    The next difference is articles. Russian language has no articles,but English language has definite and indefinite ones. The phonological systems of Russian and English are not alike as well. While English has 12 vowes sounds, Russian only has 5 of them. English unlike Russian has a porticular distinction between short and long vowels. Even though English belong to the germanic family and Russian belongs to Indo-European family we still can find some similar words in both of them. Such us money-монеты, beat-бить,stool(табуретка)-стул.
