Dear guests! You are welcome to London. As you know, London stands on the river Thames. London, the capital of G.B., is a very old city. It is two thousand years old. Many years ago London was a small town on the Thames. Now London is a big port and a beautiful city with large squares and parks. About 7 million people live here. Many writers and poets wrote about London. Here are the words of a well-known English writer Oscar Wilde. (Слайд11).We learnt this poem by heart. Let’s remember it.
(чтение стихотворения наизусть и перевод)
Symphony in yellow
An omnibus across the bridge
Crawls like a yellow butterfly,
And, here and there, a passer-by
Shows like a like a little restless midge.
Big barges full of yellow hay
Are moored against the shadow wharf,
And, like a yellow silken scarf,
The thick fog hangs along the quay.
The yellow leaves begin to fade
And flutter from the temple elms,
And at my feet the pale green Thames
Lies like a road of rippled jade.
By Oscar Wilde
