P: Just imagine the amount of inventions of the 20th century. Some people think that technology will save the world and make it better, some others think that technology will ruin the society, because we are too dependent on electric and electronic gadgets and machines.

5.A vacuum cleaner performs every day cleaning tasks from vacuuming to cleaning up liquids, dust, and waste and shampooing.
6.A mover helps us to cut and collect the grass.
7.People use a body building machines to build up one’s strength.
8.There are some fax machines in their offices. They are used to send and receive urgent messages.
9.We use a dishwasher to wash the dishes.
10.I couldn’t live without my computer at home. I use it all the time. I use it to write programs, play games, find and use information.

P: 50 years ago people hadn’t even heard of computers, and today we cannot imagine life without them. Computer technology is the fastest- growing industry in the world. Computer revolution is changing our life and our language, too. We are constantly making up words or giving new meanings to old ones.

« 50 years ago people didn’t even heard of computers, and today we cannot imagine life without them. They help to diagnose illnesses, find minerals, identify criminals. Some people say that computers are dangerous, but I don’t agree with them. They save a lot of time. They seldom make mistakes. It’s much faster and easier to surf the Internet than to go to the library. On-line shopping makes it possible to find exactly what you want at the best price, saving both time and money. E-mail is a great invention, too. It’s faster than sending a letter and cheaper than sending a telegram. All in all, I strongly believe that computers are a useful tool. They have changed our life for the better. So why shouldn’t we make them work to our advantage? »
