Цели урока:

1.  Закрепить и проконтролировать степень усвоения знаний, умений и навыков, изученных и сформированных на уроках.

2. Развивать познавательный интерес, память, внимание, языковую догадку.

3. Развивать стремление к изучению иностранного языка.

·         музыкальный центр,

·        раздаточный    материал,

·         наглядные пособия (для оформления доски или стенда)

                                                        

                                            Ход урока:

1.     Начало урока. Приветствие. Постановка темы урока.  ( слайд 1)

T: Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you! Welcome to our English lesson! As far as you know, we have been discussing the problems of science and technology at our lessons and today, as a result of this work, you’ll have an opportunity to use your knowledge in  new situations.

And now look at the board, please. How do you understand this expression: “Man is the most extraordinary thing?”           ( слайд 2)

P: Just imagine the amount of inventions of the 20th century. Some people think that technology will save the world and make it better, some others think that technology will ruin the society, because we are too dependent on electric and electronic gadgets and machines.

2.     Повторение лексического материала.

T: Have a look at the pictures and say what inventions have been made by the end of the 20th century.   (слайд 3)

T: There some things we couldn’t live without. Mankind has created so many electric appliances. Why do people use them?         

(слайд 4 - «стрелкой» соединить 1 и 2 колонки. Один ученик у доски)

Pupils:

       1.   People use a camera to take photographs.                                                                                       2. We use a microwave oven to cook, defrost,  reheat  pre-prepared food.

3. I  couldn’t  imagine my life without my mobile phone. I use it to receive or make calls or messages.                                                                                                 4. Can you imagine your life without televisions? We use them to have fun and entertain.

5.     A vacuum cleaner performs every day cleaning tasks from vacuuming to cleaning up liquids, dust, and waste and shampooing.

6.     A mover helps us to cut and collect the grass.

7.     People use a body building  machines  to build up one’s strength.

8.     There are some fax machines in their offices. They are used to send and receive urgent messages.

9.     We use a dishwasher to wash the dishes.

10.            I couldn’t live without my computer at home. I use it all the time. I use it to write programs, play games, find and use information.

T.: What thing most of you couldn’t live without?

P.: I couldn’t live without…

T.: Which of the things have you got at home?

P.: We have got a TV set, ….

T.: Please name the things that you can sacrifice without  too much reluctance.

T: Important inventions were made in different countries. Tell me, please, who invented them and when?

3.     Развитие навыков монологической речи. Контроль домашнего задания.

1.     Karl Benz produced the word’s  first  petrol –driven motor car in Germany in 1885.

2.     In 1908 US automobile manufacturer Henry Ford created the world’s first car assembly line.

3.     Sergei Korolyov (Russia) designed the first artificial satellite in 1957.

4.     John Logie Baird from Scotland invented television in 1926.

5.     In 1876 Alexander Graham Bell, an American engineer, invented telephone.

6.      In 1981 Bill Gates (USA) created Microsoft –DOS (Disk Operating System)

     T: What can you tell us about computers?  (слайд 6)

P: 50 years ago people hadn’t even heard of computers, and today we cannot imagine life without them. Computer technology is the fastest- growing industry in the world. Computer revolution is changing our life and our language, too. We are constantly making up words or giving new meanings to old ones.

4.     Аудирование знакомых структур.

T: N. has said that she cannot live without her computer at home. Let’s listen to  the text. Answer, why computer is so important for us.

« 50 years ago people didn’t even heard of computers, and today we cannot imagine life without them. They help to diagnose illnesses, find minerals, identify criminals.                                                                                                                         Some people say that computers are dangerous, but I don’t agree with them. They save a lot of time. They seldom make mistakes. It’s much faster and easier to surf the Internet than to go to the library. On-line shopping makes it possible to find exactly what you want at the best price, saving both time and money. E-mail is a great invention, too. It’s faster than sending a letter and cheaper than sending a telegram.                                                                                                                               All in all, I strongly believe that computers are a useful tool. They have changed our life for the better. So why shouldn’t we make them work to our advantage? »

5.Обучение письму.       

T: What arguments can you give for and against the computer? ( слайд 7)

        Please write the sentences in your exercise-books and then on the board!

T: Let’s repeat all the necessary computer science terms. First of all, match English and Russian equivalents of the terms.
