КВНпотеме: ”Путешествие”

Учитель: Today we are going to sum up what we have already learnt on the topic:”Travelling”. We will recall everything that we know about the means of travelling, their advantages and disadvantages. To do all this we’ll play the game. I’d like you to form three teams. Choose your captains and think of the name for your team.

1. Конкурс ”Угадай кто или что это”. Учитель читает командам предложения по указанной выше теме, а участники игры должны догадаться о ком или о чем говорит учитель. Команда, давшая больше правильных ответов, побеждает в этом конкурсе.

Учитель: The first competition will be a quiz. I’ll se how well you know the words on the topic: ”Travelling”. I’ll read you some sentences or questions and you must guess what this is. The team that has more right answers is the winner.

1) This is the type of train that carries different letters, parcels and so on. (a mail train)

2) This is the kind of train that passes many stations without stopping. (a fast train)

3) This train can take you as far as the end of the country. (a long-distance train)

4) This train connects large cities with the suburbs. (a suburban train)

5) Travelling by this kind of train you can leave, for example, St.Petersburg in the morning and arrive in Moscow in the evening. (a day coach)

6) This person checks your tickets and gives you bedding. (a guard)

7) You can travel by this kind of train to the place of destination without making a changing. (a through train)

8) It is a place where you can get information about any train. (an inquiry office)

9) It is a place where you can buy a ticket. (a booking office)

10) She is a young girl who can offer you snacks and soft drinks on board the plane. ( a hostess/a stewardess)

11) It is the window of a plane or a ship. (a porthole)

12) You will have to make it if you are not able to get the tickets on a through train. (a changing)

13) When you travel by train you can get a seat in a separate compartment but where will you have your seat if you travel on board the ship? (a cabin)

14) This is the place where you can walk when you travel on board the ship. (a walking deck)

15) This is a person at the railway station who can help you carry your luggage if you pay him some money. ( a porter)

2. Конкурс”Хорошо ли ты знаешь недостатки и преимущества различных видов транспорта”. Учитель читает предложения о каком-то из видов путешествия, а участники должны догадаться о каком из них идет речь и поднять правильную табличку с названием этого способа путешествия. Таблички приготовлены учащимися дома.

Учитель: For our next competition you will need the five cards with the names of means of traveling that you have made at home. They are: train, plane, ship, car, foot. I’ll read you the sentences about this or that kind of traveling. You must guess what it is and raise the right card. The team that has more right answers will win.

1) You can enjoy the beauty of nature; listen to the birds’ singing. ( foot)

2) With this kind of traveling you have speed and comfort combined. (plane)

3) You can stop anywhere you like to visit a museum, to see the interesting historical monument or just to eat in the shadow of a tree. (car)

4) You can feel the fresh sea wind blowing to your face and hear the cries of the sea-gulls. (ship)

5) You can watch through the window the beautiful sight of nature or just have a rest reading your favourite book. (train)

6) Sometimes you can’t feel well enough because you can’t stand seeing nothing except water round you for many days. (ship)

7) You can get tired because you have to carry all you things by yourself for a long time. (foot)

8) It’s rather dangerous, besides the tickets are very expensive. (plane)

9) It may be really dangerous if you drive all day and night long. (car)

10) Although it isn’t very expensive, it’s not the most convenient kind of travelling because it’s slow. (train)

3. Конкурс“Расшифруй предложение”. Каждая из трех команд получает по зашифрованному предложению. Ключ к разгадке таков:  каждую букву  в предложении следует заменить предыдущей буквой английского алфавита. Например, вместо буквы “B”, следует брать букву “A”.

Учитель: Unscramblethesentences. If you see the letter “B” you should use the letter “A”. the team that reads the sentence correctly the first will be the winner.

4. Конкурс“Знаете ли вы песни о путешествиях”. Участники команд   должны вспомнить как можно больше английских песен о путешествиях где бы встречались названия видов транспорта или в самой песне упоминалось о путешествиях или о чем-то связанном с путешествиями. Команданазвавшаябольшепесенпобеждаетвконкурсе.

Учитель: For the next competition I’d like you to remember the English songs about travelling, means of travelling and everything connected with travelling. The team that knows more songs will be the winner.

5. Конкурс“Туристических агентств”. Каждая из команд по правилам конкурса является туристической фирмой. Все турфирмы продают путевки на море, но первая турфирма предлагает туры на море на автобусе, вторая – на самолете, а третья – на поезде. Главная задача убедить покупателя выбрать способ путешествия, воспользовавшись услугами именно вашей турфирмы. Кто окажется наиболее убедительным, тот и выиграет данный конкурс.

Учитель: Imagine that each of the teams is the owner of the tourist agency. Each of you offers tours to the sea. But the first one offers the tours to the sea by bus, the second – by plane and the third – by train. Try to make the customers buy your tour. The team that will be more emotional and make me buy your tour will be the winner of this competition. You will have a few minutes to think things over.

6. Конкурс “Капитанов”. Учитель вызывает капитанов команд. Капитаны команд должны вспомнить как можно больше имен великих путешественников, как настоящего, так и прошлого. Выигрывает тот капитан, который назовет больше имен путешественников прошлого и настоящего. Капитан каждой команды может воспользоваться одной подсказкой от команды.

Учитель: And this competition is the competition for the captains of the teams. I’d like you to remember the names of the greatest travellers of the past and the present. You can ask your team to help you but only once. The captains of the team who knows more travellers will be the winner of this competition.
