Урок-экскурсия «Let’s make our town prosper»

Тема урока: «Давайте сделаем наш город процветающим!»
Тип урока: урок-экскурсия.

Учебник: Английский язык для VII класса школ с углубленным изучением английского языка, лицеев и гимназий / О.В.Афанасьева, И.В.Михеева.
Оборудование: аудиозапись Пугачевой А.Б., мультимедийная презентация учащихся по Ноябрьску и Лондону.

Задачи урока:

1) практическая: формировать умения и навыки учащихся в устной речи по теме (в монологической, диалогической речи), развивать творческие возможности учащихся;
2) развивающая: развивать коммуникативные умения и навыки учащихся, навыки самостоятельной работы;
3) образовательная: расширять знания учащихся по теме «Город» и страноведческие знания о Британии;
4) воспитательная: воспитание уважения к родному городу, чувство патриотизма, воспитание сотрудничества.

Ход урока.

I. Начало урока. Орг.момент.

• Вопросы дежурного о готовности группы к началу урока.

II. Речевая зарядка.
Так как урок проводится 15 апреля, в день рождения – 60-летия Аллы Пугачевой, звучит отрывок песни, в исполнении Пугачевой.
Answer my question:

2) The 15th things connected?
3) She is going to finish her singing career and start a career of a politician or a business woman. But we shall remember her as a great singer of our country.

III. Основная часть урока. Вступительная часть учителя.
Today we have an usual lesson – a virtual excursion along the streets of Noyabrsk. Our group was divided into 2 parts: the 1st group is the pupils from Noyabrsk, and the second group is the pupils from Great Britain. The pupils from Noyabrsk will show some interesting places. Let’s start our virtual excursion. Listen to the guides. Imagine the places they are speaking about.

IV. Встреча туристов из Британии. (диалог).
- How do you do?
- How do you do?
- Where are you from? Are you English?
- Well, I’m Welsh. Actually. But I live in London now.
- And what brings you to Noyabrsk?
- Are you on business?
- No, I’m on holiday. I’m a tourist.
- Let me introduce my friends. I am your guide and they are my helpers…
- I see. Glad to meet you.
- Pleased to meet you too.
- How long are you going to stay?
- 3 days.
- You know I study in the class with English inclination. I want to improve my English. I think I will have some good practice by speaking with you. I wish I could speak English like you.
- All right. And we should try to study Russian the language of Pushkin.
- Well, first of all we shall go to a cafe to have dinner and then we are going to do some sightseeing. We are going to see the most famous places in Noyabrsk. We are going to enjoy the nature reserves.

Hello, I’m your guide. Let me introduce my friends. They’re my helpers. This is Kate, Dasha and Diana.
Well, first of all we’ll go to a cafe to have dinner. And then we’re going to do some sightseeing. We’re going to see the most famous places in Noyabrsk, we’re going to enjoy the nature reserves.
Let’s start our virtual excursion.
As you see, our culture program is in the form of a sun. The people in our town are very friendly and hospitable. I think the sun will warm your visiting and will make it interesting. Our town is 31. If was founded in 1975 Though its size is not very big, there some places to visit in and around our town. When you arrive to the town you can see some sightseeings: the first explorers’ helicopter, a monument to the first discoverers. In the town you can see some places like: Music school, cinema “Rus”, Saint Michael Church, Children’s Park, “Eternal fire”, sport and cultural complex “Yamal”, “Children Museum, television port “MIG” and some others.

• Первая городская достопримечательность – здание администрации.

Administration
Let’s start our excursion with the town’s administration. The seat of the town’s Administration and town’s Duma is the white house as people call the building at the end of Lenin Street. It is our house of government. People who work there make decisions about our future.

• Так как в городе живут люди разных национальностей, следующая достопримечательность – это церковь (для православных).

Church
There are many religious people in our town. We have got a beautiful church. Here it is. It is a fantastic building with gold domes. You can see saints icons here, you can listen to the prayer or to pray yourself, you can also drink saint water. You can put a candle for you and your nearest and dearest.

• Святое место для мусульман – это мечеть.

Mosque church
There is a beautiful place which is called a Mosque church. People of different religions live in our town and they go to different churches. People who have come from Tatarstan and Bashkortostan visit this church. They live in peace and friendship.

• Город Ноябрьск – город молодых, поэтому в городе очень много детей. Особой популярностью пользуется Детский парк.

Children’s park
Next door to the town authorities there is a children’s amusement park. Children’s park is the place where the young people spend their free time when the weather is good. Here you can just walk, have a rest or talk about something with your friends. Here you can also roll on the roundabouts.

• Молодежь города Ноябрьска любят пять и танцевать, поэтому многие из них посещают музыкальную школу.

Music School
You can hear some well known music from all over the world and you can also study to play one or two music instruments.

• В кинотеатре «Русь» демонстрируются кинофильмы, которые с удовольствием посещают взрослые и дети.

Cinema “Rus”
Here, my dear friends can see some Russian and foreign films. There is a concert hall here and some perfomances and plays are shown in it.

• Святое место в городе – это Вечный огонь, у которого проходят митинги и демонстрации.

“Eternal Flame”
You can honour killed people in the wars and you also lay a wreath on it. On special days like on the 9th of May beautiful ceremonies are held here.

• Жители Ноябрьска с удовольствием посещают концерты приезжих артистов, поэтому приходят в концертный зал «Ямал».

Sport and culture complex “Yamal”
As we know, you are keen on sports. And you have your national sport – cricket. As you are great sport lovers it will be interesting to visit this complex. Here, my dear friends, you can be occupied with different kinds of sport: football, basketball, volleyball, swimming. There is a concert hall here, where perfomances are held.

• Городской телепорт транслирует видео и радиоканалы разных российских и зарубежных станций.

TV port “Mig”
It is well-known that the British like to watch TV for many hours. You like to watch different kinds of programs. And it will be interesting for you to know how our native town programs are created. There is also a radio station here, it is called “Radio-Nojabrsk”.
So, there are a lot of places to visit and to see in our town. I hope you will like everything here. You are always welcome!!!

- Oh, yes. I like your beautiful town, but I would like to invite you to visit my country Britain.
First of all I advise you to visit London – my native City.
As you know, London is the capital of the UK and of England. It is one of the major bisiness, political and culture centres. London can be divited into several parts.

• Рассказ о самой старой части Лондона - The City.

The City is the oldest part of London with its narrow streets and pavements.
There are many offices, companies and banks in this part of London. The City of London is the financial centre of the UK. The biggest Banks and offices are concentrated in the City.

• Описание части Лондона (The West End) как центра развлечений.

The West End is the centre of London. It is full of richest hotels, largest super markets, best cinemas and concert halls. Only well-to-do people can live there.

• Описание места, где заседает британский парламент.

Another important district of London is Westminster. Westminster Palace is the seat of the British Parliament.

• Рассказ о башне с часами – основной достопримечательности Лондона.

The Towers of the Houses of Parliament stand high above the city. On the highest tower there is the largest clock – Big Ben. One can hear Big Ben strike every quarter of an hour. Big Ben is the biggest clock bell in Britain.

• Описание центра Лондона (Трафальгарская площадь).

Trafalgar Square is in the centre of the West End. One can see a statue of Lord Nelson in the middle of this square.
There are many museums, libraries and galleries in London.

• East End как центр промышленности.

The East End of London is the industrial area and the place where people live. There are many factories, shops and docks there.
There are also many cars and buses in London.
- And do you know what is the symbol of England?
- Yes, I do. It is a rose.

- Yes, your native city is wonderful; but our Nojabrsk isn’t so big as yours. But our town grows up every year.
Nojabrsk is young and many children live in the town. But unfortunately they haven’t enough possibilities to spend their free time. There are quite few children pubs and cafes, where they can just sit and relax discussing their problems.

• Предлагается создать зоопарк.

Also for our children we can build a zoo in our town. Though the weather in Nojabrsk isn’t comfortable for this sort of entertainment, we can build a cozy zoo inside.

• Ребята хотят иметь в городе театр.

In our town live the number of creative people. It should be a theatre for them in Noyabrsk. Indeed a lot of famous companies go to our town and they can act their plays in this theatre.

• Так как наш регион имеет представителей коренного населения (ханты, манси, ненцы, селькупы), то предлагается построить отель недалеко от местных жителей, украшенный шкурами северных животных, где туристы могли бы купить северные сувениры, ягоды и грибы, оленину и сфотографироваться с местными жителями.

As our region has some native people: khanty, mansy, nentsy, selkupy it would be interesting for tourists to know about their customs and traditions. I think it would be interesting to build a hotel near the residence of these native people. The interior of this hotel would be decorated with skins of northern animals. The tourists could buy some northern souvenirs, some berries and mushrooms, could take pictures with native inhabitants and deer.

• Так как наш президент Д.Медведев провозгласил 2009 год годом молодежи, то ребята предлагают создать в городе больше развлекательных мест, например создать в городе роликовый парк.

Our president, Dm. Medvedev declared 2009 – the year of Youth. So, I suggest more activities for young people. I would like to have a roller – park in our town, because there are a lot of boys and girls who like roller-sport.
But there is one problem – to find a professional coach.
In spite of our town is beautiful we want to make it better and interesting for tourists. Let’s make our town prosper! When I leave Noyabrsk, I shall never forget its white nights and long winters, my school and school friends.

• Ребята любят свой родной город, гордятся им и никогда не забудут белые ночи и длинные зимы, свою школу и друзей.

• Учащиеся исполняют песню о родном городе. Часть из этой песни перевели сами ученики на английский язык.

VI. Подведение итогов работы на уроке.

• Благодарность учащимся за подготовленные проекты, за интересные и творческие рассказы о достопримечательностях родного города.

Самоанализ урока

При планировании были учтены такие особенности класса как активность, высокая коммуникативность, творчество и самостоятельность.
Тип урока: урок-экскурсия.

На уроке решались следующие задачи:
1) практическая: формировать умения и навыки учащихся в устной речи по теме (в монологической, диалогической речи), развивать творческие возможности учащихся;
2) развивающая: развивать коммуникативные умения и навыки учащихся, навыки самостоятельной работы;
3) образовательная: расширять знания учащихся по теме «Город» и страноведческие знания о Британии;
4) воспитательная: воспитание уважения к родному городу, чувство патриотизма, воспитание сотрудничества.

Этапы урока связаны достаточно логично. Выбранная структура урока рационально решала задачи, поставленные на уроке. Были применены разнообразные приемы и методы.
Учащиеся в презентации проектов по темам «Город Ноябрьск» и «Страны Соединенного Королевства Британии» проявили большое творчество и самостоятельную работу в отборе материала.
На уроке создавались аутентичные коммуникативные ситуации (фотографии, открытки, книги, виды стран и их городов приведены из Лондона, Шотландии); газета «Северная вахта».
Для проведения урока было выбрано сочетание словесных и наглядных методов, т.к. именно эти методы конкретно решали поставленные задачи на уроке.

Контроль усвоения знаний, умений и навыков был организован на уроке через выполнение тестовых заданий к прослушанным рассказам учащихся о Британии.
Использовались такие средства обучения как компьютер, видеозапись, тестовые задания, проекты учащихся, наглядность аутентичных картинок, фото, книг.

На уроке хорошая психологическая атмосфера, начало урока и его окончание песней из репертуара А.Пугачевой (в день ее 60-ления) явились «украшением» урока, эмоциональной разрядкой, создали хорошее веселое настроение.
Все поставленные задачи удалось реализовать в полном объеме.
